What's diesel engine fuel injector?

The fuel injector is a device that injects high-pressure fuel into the combustion chamber of a diesel engine. The diesel mist from the high-pressure fuel pump is injected into a specific position in the combustion chamber with a certain injection pressure, spray fineness, fuel injection pattern, range and spray cone angle, and mixed with air for combustion. Most of the fuel injectors for automobile diesel engines use hole-type fuel injectors. The main components of the fuel injector are a pair of precision parts, which are called fuel injection nozzles or fuel injection heads, which are composed of a needle valve and a needle valve body.

How to work?

When the fuel injector is working, the high-pressure diesel fuel from the fuel injection pump enters the fuel inlet channel on the fuel injector body through the fuel pipe joint, and then enters the annular oil cavity in the middle of the needle valve body, and acts on the pressure cone surface of the needle valve. The needle valve forms an upward axial thrust. Once this thrust is greater than the pre-pressure of the injector's pressure-regulating spring, the needle valve immediately moves upward, opening the nozzle hole, and high-pressure diesel fuel is injected into the combustion chamber. When the fuel injection pump stops supplying fuel, the pressure in the high-pressure oil passage drops rapidly, and the needle valve returns in time under the action of the pressure regulating spring to close the injection hole and stop fuel injection.
